HCI Researcher | Educator
I am a Human–Computer Interaction (HCI) researcher and educator with over 25 years of experience across academia and industry. I primarily teach HCI and research methods, and my research explores how technology can be designed to support people’s everyday lives.
I have submitted my PhD thesis at IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay, with my defence expected in December 2026. My doctoral research investigated how technology-supported social interactions can help Indian older adults maintain their walking routines.

My career began in the information technology sector at the National Informatics Centre (NIC), where I worked in software development in Bengaluru and Mangaluru from 1993 to 1995. I then worked in banking technology at Karnataka Bank Limited, Mangaluru, from 1995 to 2003.
I moved into academia in 2005, teaching at INTI College, Jakarta. From 2008 to 2013, I undertook research at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. My research focused on online health information seeking, including users’ emotions, behaviours, and technology adoption.
From 2013 to 2023, I served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Technology at the Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering, NMIMS, Mumbai. In 2021, I began my doctoral research at IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay, bringing together my interests in technology use, digital health, and ageing. Since July 2025, I have also contributed to design education as Visiting Faculty at MIT Art, Design & Technology University, Pune.
